Amazonian inspiration: Thais Bernardes new collection
(Vogue Italia)
Brazilian nature, eco-friendly gemstone e Italian craftmanship for the designer’s latest capsule.
Brazilian flora and fauna have always been one of the main inspiration for Thais Bernardes, the jewelry designer from Minas Gerais the Brazilian, a state known for its high concentration of stone mines. Her focuses not only on finding the most beautiful and eco-friendly gemstones, but, especially in her latest creations, also on the local flora (vegetation). As displayed in, her Brazilian named latest capsule, Cipò.
A typical forest plant, “cipò” (from the tupi language word: ysypò), also known as liana, is considered to be sacred by the indigenous tribes of the Amazon that used to weave them together into plant made spheres. Spheres that are at the core of Thais latest collection, and a constant presence in all its component: necklaces, rings and earrings that display an ethnic influence while still maintaining a minimalistic and classy style.
All the jewels in this capsule collection are made of gold-plated silver and burnished silver and, as proved by the top-notch craftmanship, are 100% Made in Italy.
The former model turned designer has always been an advocate for indigenous tribes rights and, to help this cause, has decided to devolve part of the proceeds to Survival International, the worldwide movement that, since 1969, has been fighting non-stop to make sure that indigenous tribes are treated with respect and granted full independence.
The Cipò collection is available for purchase at Thais Bernardes corner at Brian & Barry building in Milan (Via Durini 28) , via Whatsapp (+39 380 795 0519), and, starting from December, at www.thaisbernardes.com.
Thais Bernardes Cipò: a jewelry collection to defend the Amazon
“From my fellow Italians, I’ve learned to pay particular attention to details and to devote myself to quality. My jewels embrace a contemporary style perfect for women who want to redefine fashion through style and elegance”
A brief introduction to the style that characterizes Thais Bernardes, a former model turned jewelry designer born in Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil, where uncontaminated and wild nature has given the world the most beautiful and precious gemstones. Stones that have been a constant presence in her life since she was a child and that have sparked the creation, in 2015, of the homonymous and uniquely designed brand Thais Bernardes Jewelry. Silver, gold, precious and semi-precious stones are entrusted to the skilled hands of Italian craftsmen under the guidance of Brazilian traditions. Her latest collection is called Cipò, also known as liana (from the tupi language word: ysypò), inspired by a typical forest plant considered to be sacred by the indigenous tribes of the Amazon.
Strong ethnic vibes and graceful elegance blend seamlessly in rings, earrings and bracelets (including a special hand bracelet) all made of gold-plated silver and burnished silver. Classy and stylish creations with a commendable purpose: part of the proceeds will be devolved to Survival International, the worldwide movement that, since 1969, has been fighting non-stop to make sure that indigenous tribes are treated with respect and granted full independence.
The Cipò collection is available for purchase at Thais Bernardes corner at Brian & Barry building in Milan (Via Durini 28) , via Whatsapp (+39 380 795 0519), and, starting from December, at www.thaisbernardes.com.
