Fashion Week is here and Brazil presents itself with a mix of personality, ancient craftsmanship, sustainability, slow design and a close relationship with its origins. There will be 28 brands representing Brazil at the main Italian women's and men's fashion show at White Milano and at the Fashion Vibes and Friend of the Earth event.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the twinning between Milan and São Paulo, the Brazilian Consulate General is promoting a meeting with Brazilian fashion design during Milan Fashion Week on 20 September at Corso Como, 15. "Summer Fashion Milan 2022 - Designers from the Italian and Brazilian fashion capitals meet in Milan" brings 25 brands founded by Brazilian designers to the Lombard capital.

The event is an initiative of the Consulate General of Brazil, in Milan, i n collaboration with Apex Brasil, a Brazilian trade and investment promotion company, ABIT (Brazilian Textile Industry Association) and ABEST (Brazilian Association of Designers) . Among the brands present are creations by Água de Coco, Águas do Brasil, Ateliê Mão de Mãe, Borana, Catarina Mina, Daniela de Souza, Dona Rufina, Dotz, Drama, Feriado Nacional, Gonzalo, Horto, KF Branding, La Santos, Libertees, Marina Bitu, Meninos Rei, Milena Andrade The Empowering Denim Business, Room, Sau, Serpentina Bikini, Syetvie, The Paradise, Vero Chapeleria, Vestô and the solidarity jewellery of Thais Bernardes who, for some of her creations, uses gold extracted from artisans in South America.

The other event will be held at the White Milano show, from 20 to 25 September . Since 2015, the Brazilian Consulate has been working to bring Brazilian fashion to Italy. In 2019, eight brands participated in this important event for the first time. Last year, the country presented eleven names from the Brazilian fashion scene and in 2022, there are 16 confirmed presences, including Água de Coco, Ateliê Mão de Mãe, Borana, Drama, Feriado Nacional, Gonzalo, Horto, Linking Dotz, Marina Bitu, Room, Sauswimwear, Serpentina, Sy&Vie, Thais Bernardes, Vero Chapelaria and The Paradise.

A partnership sponsored by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Trade Promotion Sector of the Brazilian Consulate General in Milan, together with ABIT and ABEST. A great opportunity to see 'Made in Brazil' fashion at close quarters that emphasises craftsmanship, new technologies and, of course, sustainability and environmental impact. The result is innovative and colourful design pieces, such as the bikinis of the brand Serpentina, founded in 2016. The brand is dedicated to the conservation and recovery of water resources around the world. In addition to using sustainable raw materials, part of the proceeds from each garment sold is donated to the IPE Institute, which is responsible for planting in deforested areas of the Atlantic Forest.

The fashion buzzword in recent years is 'sustainability'. And Brazilian companies from the fashion world are showing up in Milan with the sixth edition of Brasil Eco Fashion Week (BEFW), a platform for fashion, innovation and sustainability that promotes the inclusion of social and environmental initiatives in the Brazilian fashion industry and production.

Seven Brazilian brands, from different regions of the country but united by a vision of sustainable and ecological fashion, parade their creations on the Italian catwalk.

The event is a collaboration with Fashion Vibes, an international showcase of contemporary fashion, and is sponsored by Texbrasil, the Internationalisation Programme of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry, linked to ABIT (Brazilian Textile Industry Association) in partnership with APEX BRASIL, a Brazilian trade and investment promotion company. Among the brands present are Catarina Mina, KF Branding, Ateliê Mão de Mãe, Meninos Rei and Vestô, Simple Organic and Libertees, which for years has been offering new opportunities to women prisoners in Minas Gerais.

Since 2013, Libertees has been working with the local prison system and has offered over 134,000 hours of paid vocational training, with the aim of reintegrating these women into the labour market after serving their sentences.

Milan presents 'A Prosa da Rua', a collection inspired by the Hip Hop movement, developed by creative director and designer Ana Paula Sudano. The collection encompasses versatile and comfortable garments made from eco-friendly fabrics and exclusive prints. The aesthetic of inspiration
urban looks young, modern, sensual and romantic.
